Atticus is another shining example of how Glendale Humane waves their magic wand and transforms dogs who are on death row to dogs that catch your eye and theive yout heart.
Earilier today Kat posted the story of Atticus, and when I was at GHS she made sure while talking to me on the phone, that I'd spend some time with him.
Of course, he's the first dog to catch your eye when you walk into the GHS kennel area because he looks like a giant ball of sunshine, big smiles, playful bouncing, he grabs your attention rather you like it or not.
Now we all know how Atticus went from

Mange
to

Magnificent!
What I didn't realize is what a charmer he would turn out to be.
Sure we talked for a while, he sniffed my hand and I scruffed his brow, I was looking forward to some off leash time with him, but unfortunately didn't get the chance. However he absolutely melted my heart when as I was leaning close to him, kennel door between us, he took a lick in my direction and got a tongue full of fence. Most dogs would give up there, thinking "it aint happening, bub" but not Atticus, he just leaned near me, and slipped his big fuzzy paws under the gate and onto my hands.
I just smiled at the charm and perciverance of Atticus and pet his paws for a while. I can tell you, when Atticus finds his home, someone will become a very lucky parent.
Atticus is currently available for adoption at Glendale Humane Society. You can view his profile here.
