This afternoon I had the joy of spending half an hour with Emmett, a guilty pleasure I admit, taking my whole 30 minutes with just one dog, but let me tell you, Emmett is no ordinary dog.
First off let me tell you, Emmett is a black retreiver, and he immediately went to work retreiving my heart. When I asked what dogs should I feature, Emmett was a shoo in, and feature him is what I will do.
Emmett, as you will hear in the video is a senior resident at GHS, putting in more than his fair stint at the shelter, but he's warmed hearts at every turn. This dog is the definition of love and affection and the moment I walked into the off leash park located at GHS and saw him sitting in the pool panting happily as he got hosed off and scrubbed I thought "this is a definitave "man's best friend".

At first he was reluctant to give up his ball. It was "be the ball" time for Emmett.
So it was back to bathtime, and he forgot his ball for a bit. Suddenly he notices a bouncing tennis ball and with the look of excitement and anticipation to please his audience with his daily constitutional of pool fetch he was off like a lightning bolt!
And I heard the story of Emmett, and his unwilling owners, and so Emmett sits awaiting his next family, one who will understand he's a little shy with company, but I can't help but wonder as I play with Emmett, who would ever return such a friendly dog?
Let me tell you, if I had Emmett in my family, I'd never let him go!
Emmett is available for adoption right now, and if you're looking for a companion dog who will gladly seek to please and entertain you, Emmett is your guy!
You can read more about Emmett on his profile at Glendale Humane's Website.
And thats the story of Emmett, that I had long promised, and finally was able to deliver! I'm sure you'll agree a special dog like that is well worth the wait!
- Kat had this to say:
I LOVE HIM
